Stephen Root, born in Sarasota, Florida, is an actor. He voices the rhino Frank and a Start Dad in the first Ice Age film, and an aardvark in Ice Age: The Meltdown.
Born in Sarasota, Florida to Leona Estelle and Rolland Clair Root, a construction supervisor, Root attended and graduated from Vero Beach High School in Vero Beach, Florida. Root graduated as well from the University of Florida, majoring in acting and broadcasting.
Root married actress Laura Joan Hase, with whom he had a son, later divorcing Hase and in 2008, marrying actress Romy Rosemont: the two presently live in Los Angeles, California.
