Reindeer are medium-sized mammals that lived during the ice ages into the present day.
Traits[]
Thinly-built, reindeer have four long, thin legs with large, flat hooves with which to traverse through ice and snow, a thin neck, long snout, wide ears and a short tail. Atop their heads, reindeer often sport a set of long, many-pronged antlers, which both male and female reindeer sport. Reindeer found in the North Pole had, unlike other reindeer, the ability to fly.
History[]
Reindeer were among the creatures that resided in the ice and snow of the ice ages, with a number of them, consisting of one male named Prancer and his family, becoming the driving force behind the magical sleigh of Santa Claus, the magical human that delivered presents.
Appearances[]
- Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas (First appearance)

Behind the Scenes[]
True reindeer do not have the large horn in the middle of their antlers as shown in the film.
