Raymond Albert "Ray" Romano (born December 21, 1957) is an American stand-up comedian, actor and screenwriter. He is best known for his role on the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, for which he received an Emmy Award. He created and starred in the TNT comedy-drama Men of a Certain Age (2009–11). From 2012 to 2015, Romano had a recurring role as Hank Rizzoli, a love interest of Sarah Braverman in Parenthood. New York, is an actor. He voices the mammoth Manny in the Ice Age series, and voices the character in the last few Ice Age video games. He is also known for the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond from 1996 to 2005.
The son of an engineer and a piano teacher, Romano attended Queens College in Flushing, New York, initially studying accounting, quitting after earning fifteen credits in three years, returning later to make it to the Dean's List for three years. Romano's comedic career started as he competed in the 1989 Johnnie Walker Comedy Search, and his career entailed a number of venues, Comedy Central being one in which he was a recurring guest voice actor in the animated show Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist.
